Get Ready - Festival Season is Right Around the Corner

Miles of white sandy beaches and the heat of the Carolina sun are not all Myrtle Beach has to offer this summer. After days of relaxing on the beach, or splashing around in the oceanfront pool, get out and explore alongside some of the locals. Find some of the best food, music, and entertainment that the Grand Strand has to offer. Summer is the best time for festivals, and Myrtle Beach has no shortage of them. We break down some of the best festivals to check out while vacationing along the shore.

Mayfest on Main:

This is one of the beach’s most famous festivals, and the best part is, it is free. Located in the heart of North Myrtle Beach, you and your family can enjoy nationally recognized entertainment, upscale vendors, various arts and crafts, and a children’s area. This festival is one day only on May 12, from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm bringing together thousands of people to celebrate the beginning of the summer. There will be multiple stages set up, as well as hundreds of food and craft vendors. So grab your beach chairs and help North Myrtle Beach celebrate their 50th Anniversary at the Mayfest on Main Summer Festival.

World Famous Blue Crab Festival:

Looking for a tasty meal and some live beach music? Look no further than the 37th Annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival. Located at the Historic Little River Waterfront, enjoy live music, hundreds of arts and crafts, a kid’s zone, and festival food favorites. As one of the largest festivals in the Southeast, you and the family can enjoy scenic views while the kids participate in fun activities, and you enjoy a cold beverage, all while enjoying the scenic view. If you aren’t looking for festival food, you can still enjoy the live music and then have a memorable dining experience at the waterfront restaurant, offering a variety of the strand’s best seafood.  Admission to the festival is $4-5 depending on when you purchase tickets.

Summer Lights Festival at Brookgreen Gardens:

Looking for a date night idea? Or just a relaxing night out with the family? Head down to Brookgreen Gardens’ Summer Lights Festival where you can find “The Magic of Nature Illuminated.” Experience a night of Chinese craftsmanship with the larger-than-life silk lantern sculptures that are illuminated throughout the Lowcountry Zoo. The exhibits were created in the tradition of the famous Chinese Lantern Festivals and are like nothing you have ever seen before. In addition to the immaculate displays, you can also find activities, music, Chinese horoscopes, food trucks and more. Tickets to the festival are $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children aged 4-12.

Carolina Country Music Fest:

30+ country artists and a Battle of the Bands. Don’t miss out on the 3rd Annual Carolina Country Music Fest located right along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. 18 acres of the coastal area cater to the multiple stages, as well as concession areas, merchandise booths, and more. All of the fun begins Thursday night and runs through Sunday, so whether you want to jam out all weekend, or just buy a one-day general admission pass, you are sure to have a good time while breathing in the salty breezes. Some of the headliners include Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, the Zac Brown Band, Cole Swindell, Brett Eldridge, Jon Langston, and many, many more. Another perk to this festival, it is only 2 miles away from the Paradise Resort. Check out the website to find out how you can get the best bang for your buck and who else will be performing.
