Located within minutes of the oceanfront Paradise Resort, is The Market Common, which is home to many restaurants, shops and entertainment attractions for you and your family to enjoy when you are in town on vacation.

While Hollywood and the nation’s Pacific coastline may get most of the attention when it comes to movies and their stars, for five days in April, the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival will put our little slice of the South Carolina coast on the cinematic map. Slated for April 16-21 at Myrtle Beach entertainment/retail/dining hot spot The Market Common, the 13th Annual MBIFF boasts what some call one of the best film lineups in the world — right here on the Grand Strand.

Beyond its location, the MBIFF sets itself apart from other film festivals with its panel of judges — seven movie buffs from all walks of life and a range of occupational fields, rather than the typical, strictly-filmmaker makeup. As a result, festival attendees are treated to films that the average viewer considers to be entertaining and worthwhile. The bottom line, according to the festival’s organizers: If the film is great, it gets in.

In addition to the screenings, the festival features a number of other events and gatherings over its six-day run, including networking events and film-related forums. The schedule of events and screenings — primarily held at the Stone Theatres Grand 14 at The Market Common — includes:
