With Memorial Day marking the unofficial start of the summer, it is only right that there is an unofficial end to the summer in Labor Day. Bringing a close to another great summer – and signaling the approach of cold weather and another school year – Labor Day may be a sad time for some, but it doesn’t have to be! For one last hurrah and a great way to spend a three-day weekend, look into the great resort town of Myrtle Beach, where the weather is sure to give the feel of mid-summer and the fun never seems to stop, even when summer is winding down.

With barbecue being a tremendous food staple of the South, it is only right that Myrtle Beach has a festival celebrating it over Labor Day weekend. The Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival is by far one of the most anticipated events in town, and it’s at the top of everyone’s list! This two-day festival is filled with live music, tons of play areas for kids, local art vendors and, of course, barbeque. To get involved in all of this fun, head on down to The Market Common Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. or Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. to fill your plate with great food and start filling your vacation with many memories that will last a lifetime!

Another great festival being held over Labor Day weekend happens to be at one of the most happening places in town. Known for its great shopping, dining and entertainment, Broadway at the Beach is holding the very popular Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine & Spirits Festival, hosted by the Myrtle Beach Hospitality Association. The event will showcase some of the greatest local cuisine and the best wine, beer and spirits you have ever had! With an entry fee of $25 per day or $70 for the entire weekend, you can expect to be served a few of the best moonshine drinks and desserts around town Friday night at Chocolate Under the Moon; enjoy craft beers and Boar’s Head meats Saturday at Brews ‘N the Beach; and sample an array of fine wines and hors d'oeuvres Sunday at the Grand Wine Tasting Event.

Since Labor Day seems to be approaching so quickly, you may think it’s way too late to find a great room for a great price in Myrtle Beach that will fit everyone comfortably. But that is not the case at all! The Ocean Reef Resort, located right on the white, sandy beaches of Myrtle Beach, is a high-rise resort filled with an array of rooms that can accommodate two people or a huge family – and our website always offers the best rates, as well as discounts depending on the length of your stay! With a stay at Ocean Reef, you also get some bonus perks, such as access to two great pools and a range of other water features, a great poolside bar and restaurant, friendly service, a location close to both the beach and the center of town, and more!

So with these two great festivals and a nice stay at one of the best resorts in town, you can send summer out in style here at Ocean Reef Resort.
