Vacation is supposed to be a worry-free experience, and that's exactly what you can expect when you spend your Myrtle Beach summer getaway at Bay View on the Boardwalk. Located in the heart of the downtown district, Bay View on the Boardwalk offers lots of fun in the sun by day and easy access to free family entertainment every night thanks to the Hot Summer Nights series on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. No need to plan a big night out on the town when the party is happening just a few steps away.

The 1.2-mile oceanfront walkway passes right by the Bay View on the Boardwalk property, so guests can take a short stroll to all the activities. And this summer already looks to be offering one of the best lineups yet for the Bay View Resort sponsored Hot Summer Nights series, which offers free concerts, fireworks, kids’ carnivals and other fun events to make your evening entertainment plans as easy as putting one foot in front of the other and following the Boardwalk to the sounds of music and laughter.

So, after a wonderful day at the beach and in the pools at Bay View on the Boardwalk, you don't have to worry about hearing that familiar question that invariably gets asked on vacation: “Where are we going tonight?” The answer is simple for our guests: Simply head down the beach, the Boardwalk or Ocean Boulevard to best the free family fun in town. Here's a look at this year's Hot Summer Nights schedule, beginning June 12 and running through Sept. 4:

* Mondays: The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is all about the little ones having a big time on Mondays with the weekly Kids Carnival. Featuring face-painting, mascot and character appearances, and a kid-friendly musical performance by Dino's School of Rock, Plyler Park becomes a giant seaside playground and party spot for children from 7 to 10 p.m. Why not go all out for the kids and let them choose the evening's dinner plans, like a chili cheeseburger at Peaches Corner or a cold treat from Mad Myrtle's Ice Creamery? (Or even both!)

* Tuesdays – Saturdays: If you love live music and entertainment, you've come to the right place. The Plyler Park main stage hosts free concerts from 8 to 11 p.m. five nights a week, giving families a place to check out the downtown district and dance the night away on the Promenade. Featuring some of the best local and regional bands in the business, this year's musical lineup features the Alan Bibey Project, Backfire, Bangarang, Bullfrog, Cornbread, the Craig Sorrells Project, Dino’s School of Rock, Falconheart, Gray Sky Revival, Grocery Store Gentlemen, If Birds Could Fly, the Jason Jackson Band, Marvelous Funkshun, Matt Parker and the Deacons, Mystic Vibrations, NTRANZE, Oracle Blue, Painted Man, PaperWork, the Paul Grimshaw Band, Prettier than Matt, Roshambeaux, Saluda Shoals, Sweet Sweet, Tastes Like Chicken, The Buzz, The New High, The Spazmatics, the Tim Clark Band and the Zaib Khan Band.

* Wednesdays: The skies over the Atlantic Ocean light up in an explosion of brilliant colors on Wednesday nights, giving guests at Bay View on the Boardwalk a front-row seat to the pyrotechnics. Held at 10 p.m. every Wednesday (except for a special Fourth of July show), the fireworks are launched from the nearby Second Avenue Pier, which is located a couple of blocks south of the resort. Guests can stroll down to the pier for the best view, or watch from the comfort of the beach or their own private balcony at Bay View Resort.

Plans are still in the works for Sunday nights, but the Hot Summer Nights series, sponsored by Bay View Resort, is good for free entertainment at least six nights a week. Guests at Bay View on the Boardwalk are in a unique position to take in all the sights and sounds within a short walking distance. It’s just one more reason to spend your Myrtle Beach vacation with us at Bay View on the Boardwalk.
